September Love Offering: Music Scholarship Fund
The Music Program Scholarship was founded in 2010 as an incentive to encourage St. Stephen's youth to participate in our various choirs. The scholarship is available to all high school aged members who participate in one of our adult choirs or adult handbells. Participants are required to be present for at least 75% of all rehearsals and performances, and they are awarded $50 for each year of participation. The full amount that each student earns will be collected and given to them upon their graduation from high school. Love offering donations in September will go towards continuing these scholarships into the future.
Debt Retirement Lunches are held once a month September May. All proceeds go directly to retire the debt. Meals are ready for take-out or eat-in after the 8:30 & 11:00 services. Join your church council members SUNDAY (9/15) for: BBQ Ribs, Hash and Rice, Lima Beans, Yeast Rolls, and Dessert.
Nurture and Outreach Meeting SUNDAY (9/15) at 4:30 in the office conference room.
Womanless Beauty Pageant! - We have decided to add an additional fundraiser in the fall to help support our mission trip fund for 2020. We are hosting the 1st ever Womanless Beauty Pageant at St. Stephen’s on Nov. 17th! But we need some more contestants. Now before you stop reading, understand this is all for fun and for a great cause! Our mission trip next summer is open to adults, college students, and Sr. High Youth so we need to raise more money than usual. We are planning to go to Red Mesa, AZ and do advanced home repair at a Navajo reservation June 20-27. So far, Pastor Jason, Officer Matt Timmerman, Brad Morgan, Glenn Hayes, Papa Glenn Neeley, Danny Able, and Ike Reynolds have committed. Please let Shannon know if you will consider being a contestant by Sept. 22nd.

This ticket revenue from this event goes to support Newberry College Scholarship Funds. Filling the 400 seat room would provide needed funds for our College (and definitely be a treat for the artists!) We are excited about the program with some new selections and old favorites. Help spread the word. Special thanks to the Newberry College Music Department and the Newberry Opera House for hosting this event within their busy and star-studded calendar of events for the 2019-2020 season. St. Stephen’s will be taking the bus! If you’d like to ride, please sign up and plan to leave at 1:45. There will be a $2 charge per person to cover gas expense and a minimum of 10 people to take the bus. Hope to see you September 29th in Newberry.
If you had your Pictorial Directory picture taken but did not purchase any pictures, Shannon has your complimentary 8X10! She will have them at worship on Sunday and in her office throughout the week.
