Have you felt that you needed a place to belong, or a group to join that shares your interests and with which you have things in common? Do you feel like you don’t quite belong to the Living Faith group, but are not quite ready for Prime Time? If so, we invite you to join our new Crossroads group. This adult group will be hosting a gathering on Thursday, Oct. 5 at 6:30pm at The Casual Pint, 217 Saluda Springs Road in Lexington. We hope you will join us as we see where our journey and our faith take us and give your input into group activities. HURRICANES HAVE DECIMATED various parts of our country with millions of people suffering due to the heavy rain, winds, and rising tides. How can you respond?
1) Please pray for the people who have been affected, that God's healing presence would give them peace and hope in their time of need, and/or ... 2) you can make a financial contribution to support in rescue and cleanup. As stated on the ELCA website: “Gifts to Lutheran Disaster Response, designated for ‘Hurricane Response United States’ will be used entirely (100 percent) for these disasters until the response is complete.” =
If you desire to give online the link is: https://community.elca.org/ushurricanerelief. To give by check please make it out to St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church and designate in the Memo Line “Hurricane Relief”. For the most current updates on the relief effort on social media you may want to like Lutheran Disaster Response on Facebook and/or follow @ELCALDR on Twitter.
JOIN US as we celebrate the 500th anniversary of Martin Luther’s Reformation and our German heritage, at our Reformation Celebration on Tuesday, October 31. A German festival will be held complete with tents, lights and an Oompah band under the trees in the front of the church. Brats will be served, along with potato salad, kraut, roll, beverages, and traditional German desserts, beginning at 5:30pm. Games and crafts will be held from 5:30 7pm. At 7pm, we will enter our sanctuary for our Reformation church service to hear one of Martin Luther’s sermons, presented by Pastor Jason. Look for a sign-up sheet on the table in the narthex.

SEPTEMBER LOVE OFFERING - Music Program Scholarship Fund
Founded in 2010 as an incentive to encourage St. Stephen's youth to participate in our various choirs, the scholarship is available to all high school aged members who participate in one of our adult choirs or adult hand-bells. Participants are required to be present for at least 75% of all rehearsals and performances, and they are awarded $50 for each year of participation. The full amount that each student earns will be collected and given to them upon their graduation from high school. Love offering donations in September will go towards continuing these scholarships into the future
